COYNE’S COMMITMENT TO YOU, OUR STAFF AND COMMUNITY
JUNE 26, 2020
Since early March, Coyne’s management has been monitoring all staff for potential exposure to COVID-19 and adjusting our staffing and scheduling to minimize risk to coworkers and customers.
With the recent surge of COVID-19 cases following the reopening of Idaho, risk of exposure has increased both inside and outside of our restaurant.
Here is what we are doing as a business at this time:
CDC Covid-19 Guidelines by which Coyne’s Operates
When we learn of either a potential exposure, or a confirmed positive, through either an employee or the governing health district, the employee is immediately sent home or directed not to report for their shift. Management then follows up with the individual to understand the timeline of exposure as well as to plan for next steps. Management works closely with the health district to conduct further risk assessment based upon the following criteria:
If employees of Coyne’s meet the exposure criteria below, we encourage them to self-isolate for 14 days per CDC & Central District Health guidelines. They will not be able to work for those 14 days. Testing is not recommended by the health districts for these employees.
Direct exposure of 10 continuous minutes or greater to someone with COVID-19
An accumulated time of 15 minutes or more direct exposure to someone with COVID-19 during a shift.
If they meet the criteria above, and have any of the following symptoms, we encourage them to contact a medical professional, and self-isolate for 14 days. They will not be scheduled to work during this time, and we will work with them to obtain a Covid19 test.
Temperature of 100 or above
Fever
Cough (not due to allergies or pre-existing condition)
Sore Throat
Shortness of breath
Loss of smell or taste
For those who must self-isolate or cannot work, we will assess their personal situation to determine which benefits they may qualify for; i.e. Families First Coronavirus Act, unemployment, etc…
If an employee does not meet any of the criteria above, they are deemed eligible to work
Our program adheres to the strictest guidance coming from the CDC as well as Central District Health and Panhandle Health.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Please consider wearing a mask when you are out and about.

Coyne’s in Eagle Re-opens for To-Go Orders:
The COVID-19 test that we have been waiting for has returned negative and we plan to open Coyne’s in Eagle with a limited To-Go and curbside delivery menu, featuring freshly prepared food and libations. Coeur d’Alene has been offering a family-style takeout menu since March 24th and we hope to open our Boise store next week.
Hand Sanitizer Production
We have been working through the logistics of Bardenay hand sanitizer since our communities have been impacted. Since this is a new item for us, it has taken some time to get through regulatory hoops and into production. As a craft distiller, we will not have a large supply and want to make sure we provide what we can produce for the best possible use.
We have already donated 5 gallons to the medical community and are in discussions with critical industries on further uses.
In the meantime, we will be rolling out a limited supply to our patrons, which will be provided for free with To-Go orders. Limited quantities will also be available for sale.

Bardenay and Coyne’s Locations to Close as Precautionary Measures Amidst Coronavirus Concerns
Boise, Coeur d’Alene, and Eagle locations expect to close for a minimum of 5 days
BOISE, IDAHO – In what we hope is an abundance of caution, Bardenay has made the decision to temporarily close our doors due to a potential risk of Coronavirus. Bardenay will close its Treasure Valley locations as well as Coeur d’Alene, and Coyne’s in Eagle.
It has come to the attention of our management team that an employee may have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a neighboring state. We have prioritized the health and safety of our entire community and are taking precautionary measures for the well-being of our customers and staff.
No employees are symptomatic for COVID-19, however, local testing has been performed and the results are pending. The closure will be in effect through the end of this week and we will update our patrons after we have received testing results and consulted with local and regional health officials.
“As part of Coronavirus protocol, we have been tracking the movements of our employees to ensure the safety of our patrons and community,” said Kevin Settles, owner. “While we don’t have any symptoms or a confirmed case, we feel it is the most responsible decision to temporarily close our doors.”
At this time, we are not available for comment, but will provide updates as information becomes available.
